Protect - Promote - Support

Our Aims and Purpose
  • Protect the natural environment
  • Protect the unique character of the area, including its cultural and built environment
  • Protect the biodiversity of the area, and avoid the extinction of threatened species
  • Promote ecologically sustainable use of the area – in agriculture, forestry, mining and other land uses
  • Support organic farming as a long-term sustainable activity
  • Support soil conservation, e.g. by revegetating creek banks and eroded areas
  • Promote conservation and protection of water resources, both above and below ground
  • Promote total catchment management of the Colo, Hunter and Cudgegong catchments
  • Promote conservation of energy and use of renewable energy
  • Promote re-use and recycling of materials

Our Membership
The people who are involved in this group come from a variety backgrounds and have a wide range of interests. The common factor is that they all care about the environment, the people, land and country and are willing to take action to protect, promote and support them.
