Bimblebox explores the huge Australian coal export industry from the grassroots up. With music by Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, the film features many prominent members of the debate against coal expansion in Australia including Guy Pearse (Global Change Institute), Ove Hoegh-Guldberg (University of Queensland) and Matthew Wright (Beyond Zero Emissions). Will lead dust affect Rylstone and Kandos?
Join Lue Action Group in opposing the proposed silver, lead and zinc mine at Lue. Kingsgate Consolidated Limited plans to develop a large open-cut mine only 3 km from the village of Lue. It is seeking to have the mine up and running by 2014. Lead dust from the mine may affect residential areas as far away as Rylstone and Kandos. The mine would have an enormous impact on the whole region. Find out more ... |
